Stone Tablet at the Closure Site of Gaocun
The Gaocun Closure Site Stone Tablet is situated on the east side of the Yellow River embankment, at the west end of Gaocun Village, about 7.5 kilometers northwest of the county seat. The tablet measures 170 centimeters in height and 80 centimeters in width, with the engraved inscription reading "Gaocun Closure Site." In September 1880 (the sixth year of the Guangxu reign), a breach occurred in the Gaocun section of the embankment, causing the floodwaters to surge eastward. After the site was sealed in November, Xu Yunkui, Commander-in-Chief of Daming, and Liu Shengzao, Intendant of Dashunguang, erected the tablet in commemoration. It is a county-level key cultural relic protected site.
