The Yangbaxiang Daban Yong Village Ethnic Village Reserve is situated in the eastern part of Ceheng County, about 30 kilometers from the county seat. It belongs to Yangbaxiang Town, with a total population of 1,416 in 2007. The village is home to a mix of Buyi and Han ethnic groups, among which the Buyi people account for 68% of the population. In terms of education, 8% have received high school education or above, 60% have completed junior high school, 30% have elementary education, and 15% are illiterate. In 2001, the per capita grain consumption was 330 kilograms, and the per capita net income was 2,000 yuan. The main economic sources of the residents include grain, oil, and timber.

The village is adjacent to the former National Highway 324. The Yangbaxiang River curves around the front of the village, while the back and center are surrounded by dense, lush fir forests, creating picturesque scenery with misty woods, vibrant seasons filled with birdsong and floral scents, and flowing clear waters. Traditional stilted houses, known as "ganlan" architecture, are prevalent here. These buildings are constructed along the mountainside from the bottom up, layer upon layer, forming a densely arranged and typical representation of the farming architectural culture of southern ethnic minorities. Especially notable are the village’s distinctive ethnic foods such as five-colored glutinous rice, September wine, glutinous rice wine, and flavorful dog meat dishes. The Buyi girls often wear traditional, hand-woven indigo cloth garments, adorned with blue-white or patterned headscarves, exuding an elegant, simple, and refined charm. Young men and women enjoy singing love songs to each other, and the melodies of courtship tunes can often be heard across the hills and valleys. The entire village embodies both the classic charm of ethnic traditions and the ambiance of modern life. In July 1993, a group of six experts and professors from Nagoya Women's University in Japan visited Daban Yong Village and described it as a convergence point of Buyi ethnic customs and lifestyles in China. Currently, the village has achieved “five connections” (access to roads, electricity, water, radio/TV, and telephone), making it one of the key sites for showcasing Buyi traditional culture and eco-tourism in the county.
