Yingzhou Park

Yingzhou Park is situated on West Street in Huili City. It was originally a water prison set up by Commander Deng during the Ming Dynasty. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was transformed into a garden by guildhalls from multiple provinces and was completely restored in 1980, with new structures such as the Zhuheting Pavilion, Jjingge Pavilion, Ouxiang Bridge, and Yuhua Pool added. The Temple of Marquis Wu is located on Laojiezi Street in the northern part of the city. Built during the Jiaqing era of the Ming Dynasty, it underwent two major renovations during the Qing Dynasty and has remained well-preserved for over 500 years. This site features an elegant and classic design with intricately carved beams and painted rafters, making it both beautiful and magnificent. The Dongyue Temple is situated outside the southern gate of the county town. Constructed by Zhou Mian, a Qing Dynasty regional commander, it follows a traditional courtyard layout and is noted for its colorful bas-reliefs. Its main structure remains intact to this day. The Jingzhuang Temple is located on a small hill at Yakou in the western part of the city. With its double-eaved towers and ancient towering trees, it was built by the Ming Dynasty official Li Yi during the Yongle era and still retains much of its historical charm. The Stele Forest is housed within the Jjingge Pavilion of Yingzhou Park and houses calligraphy works by 31 notable figures, including Yang Shen (the top imperial scholar of the Ming Dynasty), Weng Tonghe (tutor to Emperor Guangxu), Huang Yanpei and Guo Moruo from modern times, as well as proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Nie Rongzhen. The Wen Tower is located south of the city, approximately five kilometers from downtown. Originally built in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, it consists of nine stories and stands about ten zhang high, with basic living facilities also in place.
