Longnv Gully

　　   The Longnv Gully Scenic Area (a national AAAA-level tourist attraction) is one of the main tourist destinations in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County. It is situated in Siron Township in the northwest of the county, on the southwestern side of Yuanbao Mountain at an altitude of over 2,086 meters. As a national AAAA-level scenic area, it is also recognized as a regional agricultural tourism demonstration site, one of Liuzhou’s Top Ten Beautiful Villages, and an Rongshui self-drive tour camping site. It is an ethnic culture-themed scenic area that combines natural landscapes with cultural attractions. The Rong–Qian Highway runs through the area, and it is just 50 kilometers by car from downtown Rongshui.

　　   The scenic area is home to ethnic minority groups such as the Miao and Dong peoples. It features ancient and unique wooden stilt houses, distinctive ethnic customs, and rich local cultural charm. The area is covered with lush ancient trees, rugged rocks, gurgling mountain springs, cascading waterfalls, gleaming pools, and offers a tranquil environment. Major attractions include Longnv Pool, Moon Pool, Twin Dragons Cave, Dragon Gate, Longnv Waterfall, reservoir scenery, the Thousand-Year Ancient Village, natural swimming pool, Miao Ridge terraced fields, azalea seas, Red Army Bridge, Red Army Pavilion, Twin Arrows Waterfall, and the Miao Mountain Rainbow Suspension Bridge. The local village of Guixiu Tun in Rongdi is an ancient new-style Dong village. The ancestors of the Dong people in Guixiu migrated here from Hunan 400 years ago. During the democratic revolution period (1930s), the village twice welcomed and saw off the 7th Red Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, led by Deng Xiaoping, as they marched north to join forces with the Central Red Army. To this day, the Red Army Bridge, used by the Red Army during their march, remains preserved within the Longnv Gully Scenic Area.

　　   In accordance with the decision of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and the Autonomous Region People’s Government on accelerating the leapfrog development of tourism, and relevant documents on creating distinctive tourism destinations, Rongshui was designated in 2013 as one of Guangxi’s first 20 counties to develop into distinctive tourism counties. Centered around the tourism development positioning of “Beautiful Rongshui · Ethnic Miao Culture,” and in line with the instructions given by Liuzhou Party Secretary Zheng Junkang during his inspection of Rongshui—“to achieve coordinated development between city and county levels, and create a golden tourism belt that showcases the diverse tourism resources of Liuzhou”—the county government strengthened its leading role. The Longnv Gully Scenic Area was promoted as one of the county’s “Top Ten Tourism Projects” and was redeveloped as a key site along the Yuanbao Mountain–Beijiang River tourism route. The project secured more than 10 million yuan in central budget investment funding, which was used to build large parking lots, a visitor center, a sightseeing dock, and other supporting facilities in the scenic area. Within the touring zone, pedestrian walkways were renovated along the banks of Longnv Gully, and additional amenities such as viewing platforms, rest chairs, waterside platforms, and pavilions were added.

　　   Here, visitors can sample ethnic flavors and take part in folk activities such as making oil tea, barbecuing, and visiting nearby villages. The scenic area provides tourism services including dining, accommodation, and sightseeing.
