Nancheng Village Mosque

Introduction     The Nancheng Village Mosque in Huangduobao Township, Guyuan, bears clear inscriptions indicating it was built in the 22nd year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1604). It has undergone repairs over the generations, and the current structure was rebuilt in 1980. The mosque now consists of five main prayer hall rooms, four auxiliary rooms, three washrooms, and two other utility rooms, covering a total area of two mu.

Huangduobao was known as Shimen Town during the Tang Dynasty and was a key stop along the Silk Road. Foreign envoys, merchants, and Islamic missionaries all had to pass through Shimen Town to reach Guyuan, and from there proceed to Chang’an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty.
