Covering an area of 755 hectares, the park’s riverine zones serve as key habitats, resting spots, and feeding grounds for bald eagles. From November to February each year, the area draws migratory bald eagles from the Pacific Northwest. The optimal time for eagle viewing is from mid-December to mid-January, when up to a thousand eagles can be seen. The abundant salmon returning to spawn in the river provides a rich food source for these majestic birds. The best vantage point for visitors is the several-hundred-meter-long “Eagle Watch Trail” along the Squamish Riverbanks, which offers expansive views and the chance to observe eagles in various poses.
