Bijiang Octagonal Building
The Octagonal Building is the symbol of Bijiang and one of the scenic spots for touring the Nujiang Grand Canyon. Nestled within the compound of Zhiziluo Village Office, the Octagonal Building enjoys a sheltered, sun-facing location with spring-like weather all year round. Designed in the style of the revolutionary memorial Daoyi Building, before 1983, there was only a simple bungalow on this site—known as the Bijiang Pavilion. In April 1984, the state invested over 200,000 yuan to construct a three-story Octagonal Building covering a total area of 832 square meters, which at that time became the largest library in Nujiang Prefecture.
