The Grand Camphor Tree of Zhangtan

     It is one of the scenic spots along the "Forty Li Gallery of the Xin'an River." Legend has it that Zhang Liang of the Han Dynasty was buried here. The ancient camphor tree of Zhangtan, over a thousand years old, stands 26 meters tall with a trunk diameter of over 10 meters and a shaded area of 1,850 square meters. It is hailed as the "King of Camphor Trees" in China. Admission & Opening Hours

     30 yuan; since it is collected by the village, you can try to negotiate the price.

     Admission

     There are buses to ShenDu, and you can take a boat to Zhangtan. The boat fare is 4 yuan and the journey takes about an hour. If driving, you can get off on the opposite bank of Zhangdu and then take a ferry across the river (1 yuan).
