Tashan Forest Park
Tashan, also known as Tiansheng Ridge, meaning "a naturally superior place," is situated on the southern edge of the county town along the Sui River and has served as a traditional location for ceremonial events and imperial worship through the ages. Standing 253 meters above sea level, it rises majestically along the Sui River south of Huaiji County. In 1993, Tashan was transformed into Tashan Forest Park. The park features dense woods, winding paths, tranquility, and elegance; its pavilions and towers exude classic charm.

Throughout history, Tashan’s poetic and picturesque scenery has attracted many literati and poets who enjoyed ascending the mountain to admire the view and composed numerous poems about it. Liang Zhidong, a local scholar, wrote a poem titled "Dawn at Tashan After the Rain," which reads: "Bamboos and trees cast a secluded shade, distinct from the mundane world; ancient pines and temple cast aside worldly ties. Emerging emerald hues greet the morning sun; dispersing mist carries the light of dawn. Rituals passed down through time remain solemn; the mountain’s colors shift, ever fresh."

At the summit, a television transmission tower and a telecommunications microwave station stand tall—one to the south and one to the north—towering into the clouds and facing each other from afar. At the foot of the mountain, a grand stone stairway paved with granite leads upward. Behind the stairway stands a majestic stone memorial archway inscribed with four bold characters: “Tashan Park.” Passing through the archway, a 3-meter-wide zigzag path winds its way up to the top. The area is surrounded by numerous winding trails leading into the dense woods. Amid the lush pine forest, 11 pavilions and towers have been built, including Guangcai (Radiant Splendor), Dicui (Emerald Green), Mingzhu (Bright Pearl), Lingyan (Mist-Covered Peak), Tiansheng (Natural Wonder), Xiaoji (Morning Clearing), Songshao (Pine Melody), and Huifeng (Returning Peak), all echoing the presence of the mountaintop TV transmission tower and microwave tower.

Tashan Forest Park boasts enchanting scenery and pleasant landscapes, and has been a sacred place in the hearts of the people of Hualing throughout the ages.
