The Huaguoshan area spans 10 square kilometers, with forest coverage exceeding 80%, nestled within a picturesque valley. The natural ecology is excellent, featuring clear mountains and beautiful waters. A mountain stream stretching over 2 kilometers—home to 10 uniquely shaped ancient bridges and pavilions—flows through the village and into Fengyuan River, a tributary of the Xin’an River. The crystal-clear water meanders through layers of undulating mountains, with Huizhou-style houses dotting the hillsides in charming disorder. The mountains and valleys are covered in flourishing fruit and flowering trees, including more than 500 ancient plum trees over 300 years old, which are sturdy, vibrant, and come in a stunning array of shapes that dance gracefully in the breeze—an extraordinary and rare sight. There are also over 1,800 acres of orchards growing oranges, plums, peaches, pears, and lantern persimmons, filling the air with fruity aromas year-round. Endless tea plantations and lush bamboo forests create a serene atmosphere that is both refreshing and uplifting, making this a hidden “Shangri-La” untouched by the outside world.

This is also part of ancient Huizhou, boasting a long history, simple folk customs, and a rich Huizhou cultural heritage. The “Bao Family Ancestral Hall” and residential complex, established by a branch of the Bao family from the nearby Tangyue Memorial Archways, were built by descendants of the Bao clan during ancient times. The well-preserved Huizhou merchants’ ancient paths, along with pavilions, terraces, towers, and attics built along the mountain ridges, offer visitors a visual feast. In early September, a peculiar rock was discovered at the source of Fanxi Stream. After preliminary excavation and cleaning, it was revealed to be a massive, flower-like rock formation covering about half an acre and standing 200 meters tall. The surface of the rock features clear patterns resembling the Eight Trigrams, the god of longevity, and turtle motifs, with textures and materials reminiscent of agate and chicken-blood stone. Many curious visitors have crouched to touch its vivid, transparent, and uniquely patterned surfaces, taking photos to capture the marvels of nature’s creation. According to initial assessments by Mr. Han Ligang, a researcher at the Provincial Archaeological Research Institute, and experts from the No. 322 Geological Team, the rock is believed to be a granite agate formation, dating back approximately 1.05 billion years.

In addition, you can personally take part in traditional Huizhou folk activities such as birthday celebrations and weddings, immersing yourself in the profound richness of Huizhou culture. Stay in farmhouses, enjoy farm-fresh meals, and engage in rural work to truly immerse yourself in the natural ecology of Huaguoshan. It offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing you to purify your mind amidst the pine winds and ancient moonlight. Huaguoshan now offers eco-cultural tourism tailored for seniors, providing a cultural experience that fulfills their desires for knowledge, novelty, joy, beauty, fulfillment, and health. The unique historical and cultural system of ancient Huizhou, combined with the distinctive natural environment of Huangshan’s Huaguoshan, creates a perfect setting for cultural tourism among the elderly.

Let us transcend the boundaries of time and space, lose ourselves in the harmony of objects, scenery, emotions, and thoughts, and experience this infinitely wonderful time together. Welcome to She County!
