Hexi Dayangchang
Hexi Dayangchang is a highland pasture scenic area and the main part of the Luoguqing Provincial Nature Scenic Area. Located in Hexi Township, Lanping County, over 130 kilometers from the county seat, it mainly consists of alpine meadows. From here, to the east you can see the snow-capped peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain; to the west, the majestic expanse of Biluo Snow Mountain stretching as far as the eye can see; to the north, the grand presence of Baimang Snow Mountain and Meili Snow Mountain; and to the south, through the primeval forest, lies Luoguqing Lovers' Dam.

In the transition zone between the grasslands and the snow-capped mountains lies a vast sea of azaleas, about two hundred meters wide and stretching over ten kilometers. Their splendor is overwhelming. As you approach the meadow, the captivating scenery of the grassland inevitably reminds one of the timeless verse “The sky is vast, the wilderness boundless.” Although there are no grazing livestock here, nor the vastness and grandeur of a typical grassland, its beauty is still brimming with poetic charm.

Dayangchang lies at the junction of Lanping County, Weixi County in Diqing Prefecture, and Yulong County, and also marks the watershed between the Jinsha River and Lancang River systems. Each spring and summer, it becomes a gathering place for herders who migrate their livestock here from all directions. People of different regions, speaking different languages, and of all ages come together on this stunningly beautiful grassland, where the surrounding grass is delicate and the flowers underfoot are astonishing, creating a fresh and harmonious scene.
