One-Line Sky of Huangshan
One-Line Sky of Huangshan is located beneath the Wenshu Cave. On the way up to Yuping (Jade Screen) Scenic Area, after passing Xiaoxin Slope and Immortal Crossing Bridge, there is a long, narrow stone crevice sandwiched between two cliffs. The widest part is no more than 2 meters, while the narrowest is just half a meter. The path through the middle has over 80 steps and is so narrow that only one person can pass at a time. As you walk through it and look up at the sky, only a thin sliver of blue is visible — neither the sun nor the moon can be seen unless it's noon or midnight, hence the name. The Qing dynasty poet Li Fei wrote: “In the clouds, the stones split to reveal a rift; never meant to hold slanting sunlight. Who looks up to see the path piercing the sky? A foot of blue spans endless height.”
