Qilin Cave
Qilin Cave: The cave got its name from a giant stalactite inside that resembles a qilin (a mythical Chinese creature). As early as 1530, a temple named "Baiyi Nunnery" had been built in front of the cave. Together with the nearby "Tan Spring," which is just a stone's throw away on the opposite side, they formed a renowned scenic spot in the old days. In 1941 and 1949, patriotic generals Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng were imprisoned here by Chiang Kai-shek. In 1996, the government allocated special funds to build the Memorial Museum for Generals Zhang and Yang. It is now a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit and a municipal-level patriotic education base.
