Songgu Nunnery
Introduction     Located at the foot of Diezhang Peak, Songgu Nunnery, originally named Songgu Thatched Cottage, was first built during the Baoyou era of the Song Dynasty. It was founded by the Taoist priest Zhang Yinpu of Songgu. During the Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt and converted from a Taoist hermitage to a Buddhist temple, renamed Songgu Nunnery. At that time, Luo Rufen, the prefect of Ningguo, inscribed the plaque with the four characters “Eastern Land Cloudy Mountains.” The area enjoys a serene environment scattered with stone carvings, making visitors feel as if they have entered a paradise.
