Hometown of He Zizhen
Huangzhuling was the hometown of He Zizhen, wife of Mao Zedong, and held significant importance during the revolutionary struggle at Jinggangshan. - Zhu Liangcai established a military training class for the Hunan-Jiangxi border region in Huangzhuling, where many revolutionary sites and relics remain to this day. After the Red Army left Huangzhuling, - the reactionary forces launched seven large-scale raids on the village, burning down all the houses. He Zizhen’s former residence was burned seven times, and 80% of the villagers were killed. Huangzhuling now features attractions such as the former residence of He Zizhen, the site of the Southeast Provisional Special District Committee, the old training ground, the former Red Army campsite, Red Army well, martyr martyrdom site, Red Army cave, remains of the Red Army outpost, and ancient tree clusters.
