Tonga National Museum

The Tonga National Museum is situated in Nuku'alofa, the capital of Tonga. It serves as a museum, a cultural center, an art gallery, and a research library. The museum’s collection includes a wide range of items such as artworks, photographs, cultural exhibits, archaeological artifacts, books, magazines, promotional brochures, and documents. It also features a permanent exhibition of Lapita pottery. Among the exhibits are many valuable pieces of pottery, some even from the Royal Collection of the Kingdom of Tonga, preserved and passed down through generations, making them treasured artifacts for understanding Lapita culture and art. Additionally, the museum has an information desk staffed by professional guides who aim to enhance visitors’ understanding of Tongan culture. Many schools in Tonga have organized student visits to the museum.
