Hengdao River

The Hengdao River is a tributary of the Ren River. It originates from the Huang'anba alpine grassland in the former Dong’an Township of Chengkou County, located between the grassland and Yanbaozhai. The river basin enjoys an average annual temperature of 10–12°C, with annual precipitation of around 1,200 mm, abundant sunshine, and an elevation ranging from 1,900 to 2,500 meters, resulting in a cool and pleasant climate. The journey from Yuhuang Temple to the Huang'anba Grassland along the Hengdao River spans approximately 11 km, featuring serene and elegant gentle-sloped valleys. The valley is richly vegetated with dense plant life. The stream is about 3–5 meters wide, with broad-leaved trees lining both banks and complementing the flowing waters. Wildlife can often be spotted here, and the area is dotted with clusters of waterfalls and interconnected clear pools. The fresh air throughout the valley is invigorating.
