Guoding Mountain Fort
Introduction Guoding Mountain Fort is located on Guoding Mountain in the western suburbs of Duanzhou District. Built in 1920, it was one of the seven forts constructed in Zhaoqing by Lin Hu, the military governor of Luoyang. Guoding Mountain lies on the northern bank of the Dading Gorge of the Xijiang River, with an elevation of 230 meters. It serves as a strategic barrier to the southwest of Zhaoqing. The fort also includes three beacon towers and one bunker. The beacon towers are situated on the mountaintop, spaced 36 meters apart, with diameters ranging from 3.8 to 4.2 meters. Their walls are built from blue bricks. The bunker is located on the northeastern side of the mountain summit, slightly lower than the front edge of the beacon towers. It measures 20 meters in length and 10 meters in width, with its base 1.25 meters above the ground.
