Featured Attractions
Swan Lake
The beautiful Swan Lake lives up to its name, covering 21,000 square meters, and enchants all travelers on the Guizhou-Zunyi Expressway with its shimmering waters and tree reflections. The park is also named after this lake.
Huanpo Cave
The Huanpo Cave in the park has a development orientation of 320 degrees, stretches about 380 meters in length, and features stalactites with highly realistic shapes and diverse forms. The stalagmite in the cave’s fourth “chamber,” about one meter tall, strikingly resembles a standing “Guanyin” (Goddess of Mercy), which experts have recognized as having high ornamental value.
Pine Forest and Grassland
The park’s forest mainly consists of pure Masson pine plantations established around 1960, exhibiting typical characteristics of southwestern China’s forests. The planted Masson pines are tall and straight, arranged in neat, linear rows. With an average height of 22 meters and average diameter at breast height of 20 centimeters, walking beneath the woods fills the air with the unique fragrance of pine, refreshing the mind and spirit. The forest grassland is another highlight of the park. Years of forest conservation and conversion of farmland to grassland have created vast, lush green carpets of meadow-like forest land.
Sky Train Incident
The “Sky Train” incident is a sensational event from 1994 that garnered attention both in China and abroad, and is one of the few suspected UFO occurrences in the country. The site of the incident lies within the park, and as technology continues to evolve, the curiosity to explore UFOs draws numerous visitors seeking answers.
Ancient Post Roads
There are two ancient post roads in the park—one being the most important pre-Republic-era route, the Sichuan-Guizhou Line, and the other a winding path from Xiuwen via Xiaoguan to Guiyang.
Dapuo Mountain Peak
The Dapuo Forest Fire Watchtower stands proudly atop Dapuo Mountain at an elevation of 1,367 meters. It serves not only as Baiyun District’s primary forest fire monitoring station but also as the district’s finest viewing spot. From the antique-style pavilion, visitors can overlook the entire Baiyun area, evoking the feeling of “standing atop the peak to view all mountains below.”
Promoted to a National 2A-Level Scenic Area
Swan Lake Forest Park has successfully passed the national review and has officially been promoted to a National 2A-Level Scenic Area.
