Gongla Kabu Mountain is located within Biru County, Nagqu, on the ridge of the Jieshuei Benlong Gyamo Valley. In Tibetan areas, it is called “Sapu Gongla Kabu,” in Han Chinese regions it is known as “Xinan Gangga Yuri,” in India as “Sang Wei Ruo Re Zha,” and in the Zhangzhung kingdom as “Zhongqie Gongla Kabu.” It is commonly referred to as the “Mountain of Five Names.”
Gongla Kabu Mountain is a sacred site where enlightened beings practiced and is regarded as a immensely powerful guardian deity. To its right are the thirteen peaks of Guojida Jiesongsong, to its left are Yagang Giezhazisongsong, and in front are the eight sisters of Monan, among other peaks. At its base lies a lake named “Dujiu Sa Cuo Charin,” which boasts spectacular scenery.
