Ten-Thousand-Mu Flower Base

The Ten-Thousand-Mu Flower Eco-Tourism Area is situated in the Maijia River Basin in the southwest of Baiyun District, belonging to Yan Shan Hong Township and Mai Jia Township. It borders the Baiyun Campus of Guizhou Normal University, Xiayan Village, and Dashandong to the east, extending all the way to the S104 Provincial Highway connecting Guiyang and Xiuwen. In the near future, there is hope that this tourism area will be developed into a National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site.

The advantages of the Ten-Thousand-Mu Flower Base tourist site mainly include: First, it boasts superior natural geographical conditions suitable for the growth of flowers and plants. Second, Baiyun District has successfully hosted the National Kite Competition & the 9th Baiyun Kite Festival, as well as the 11th China (Guiyang) Orchid International Expo, forming an initial tourism image of “Green Forest City of Guiyang, Sea of Flowers in Baiyun.” Third, building on the successful Orchid Expo, more than 30 flower developers (there are over 40 flower enterprises in Guiyang) have been attracted to settle in Baiyun District to develop the flower production industry, giving rise to a preliminary-scale flower industry. Fourth, the surrounding areas of the flower tourism zone feature a rich and diverse array of scenic spots, facilitating the formation of a tourism network, with good landscapes within the area. Yinpo is a small hill located in the center of the scenic area and serves as an excellent natural viewing platform. The water landscape includes the Maijia River, Longquan Spring, and two natural lakes, where activities such as fishing and other water-based leisure entertainment can be enjoyed. Three leisure resorts have been built. To the north of the tourism area, there are four rural villages where visitors can experience “farmhouse fun.”
