Lidaima Cliff Face

　　Introduction    The Lidaima Cliff Face is situated along the hiking route, at the head of Limaqiao Bridge, roughly five li ahead from Cihuangge. From the bridge, looking across to Lidaima Peak, you can see a massive cliff face that juts straight out from the precipice. This sheer rock wall is the Lidaima Cliff Face.     The Lidaima Cliff Face is “sheer on both sides, dropping into the abyss below,” yet inscribed on this very cliff are the ten large characters “Lidai Kong Donghai, Denggao Wang Taiping” (Ride forth to empty the East Sea, Ascend high to gaze upon peace), hailed as the finest cliff carvings on the entire mountain. These grand characters, painstakingly engraved by stonemasons at great personal risk in those days, now stand as a “monument” celebrating the diligence, bravery, and wisdom of the working people.
