Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the background image on the 100-yuan Chinese banknote (fourth series) was taken from Wuzhi Peak. Independent travelers visiting here often take out a 100-yuan bill and compare the scene with the image, which adds a unique sense of fun.
Tour Guide:
Wuzhi Peak is also a natural zoo, where rare animals such as short-tailed monkeys, sambar deer, silver pheasants, and yellow-bellied tragopans can be found roaming the area. It is also home to over 300 plant species, including yew and fragrant wood. Longqing River is abundant with local specialties such as stone frogs, stone fish, and stone fungus.
Currently, there is no hiking trail to Wuzhi Peak. Visitors can only admire its majestic presence from the “observation deck” on the opposite bank.
Introduction:
The main peak of Jinggangshan, named for its resemblance to the five fingers of a hand, stretches for dozens of kilometers from southeast to northwest. It boasts a grand and precipitous presence with well-preserved primeval forests. Towering peaks stand on either side with a deep valley in between, at the bottom of which lies Longqing River, also known as the Jinggang River. Halfway up the mountain is the “Tianjun Cave,” said to have been the former encampment of the Taiping Army. Opposite Wuzhi Peak is the “Longqing Cave,” which, according to legend, once sheltered dragons and immortals. During the revolutionary period, the Red Army held out here for over 40 days of guerrilla warfare, enduring bitter cold and snow.
