Purple Stone Peak
Introduction Purple Stone Peak is situated in the southern part of Huangshan, adjacent to Qingluan Peak, and faces Peach Blossom Peak across a stream. It is one of the Thirty-Six Major Peaks, with an elevation of 1,122 meters. The entire peak is composed of purple granite that glistens under sunlight, hence its name "Purple Stone Peak." At the foot of the peak lies Tangquan Stream, along which there are hot spring bathhouses and a hot spring swimming pool, as well as structures such as Huangshan Hotel and the Workers' Sanatorium. The foothills are home to many rare flowers and trees, filling the air with fragrance that drifts for miles in spring. Golden snub-nosed monkeys are often seen in groups on the mountain, gathering wild fruits or playing together without shying away from visitors.
