Five Horses Facing Heaven

　　The summit of Five Horses Facing Heaven is inaccessible by road, but you can sometimes spot macaques playing up there. At the foot of the mountain, a small hydroelectric station has now been built by damming the river. The reservoir is crystal-clear and azure, reflecting the rugged peaks of Five Horses Facing Heaven, creating a poetic scene reminiscent of “a serene lake emerging from a deep gorge.”

　　Located four kilometers south of Ciping and one kilometer from the scenic area, it is accessible by road. Five towering peaks stand side by side with unique shapes, their cliffs hundreds of feet high, forming a majestic landscape that resembles five horses standing proudly with their heads raised. Legend has it that they were formed from five celestial steeds, hence the name “Five Horses Facing Heaven.” The mountain presents different charms in each season — the mountain’s form in spring, its aura in summer, its mood in autumn, and its bones in winter. A rugged path winds along the mountainside, known as the “Red Army Road.”

　　At the foot of the mountain, two streams converge, and there are many cascading waterfalls above them. Waterfalls crash around the bridges, and another small stream also features several levels of falls, creating a spectacular view. At the entrance, there are now the Caiyun Bridge and a suspension bridge, offering opportunities for leisurely sightseeing as well as thrilling activities like zip-lining, archery, and rock climbing...

　　Major attractions include the Five Horses Facing Heaven Cliff, Yanqing Bridge, Xianyan Cave, ancient trees, and more.
