Located northeast of Dajing, the former “Hongguang” Hospital had outpatient rooms, operating rooms, hospital beds, and a total of thirty-two rooms that could accommodate over 200 wounded and sick soldiers. In late January 1929, when Jinggangshan was briefly lost, the reactionary forces set fire to the hospital. Over 100 seriously wounded soldiers who couldn’t be evacuated sacrificed their lives heroically. After liberation, the government rebuilt the hospital to its original appearance.
