Tianyou Peak Scenic Area
Tianyou Peak is situated to the north of Liuju Stream, with the center of the scenic area at an altitude of 408.8 meters and a relative height of 215 meters. It is one of the most iconic peaks among the Thirty-Six Peaks of Wuyi, renowned for its stunning landscape. On spring or winter mornings, or after the rain clears, the mountain and valley are shrouded in rolling white mist. The wind stirs the clouds, which surge and billow like ocean waves. Ascending to the peak, you gaze upon the ever-changing sea of clouds, as if wandering beyond the mortal realm. This is why it is called Tianyou (Heavenly Tour) Peak. The famous traveler Xu Xiake once remarked upon reaching the summit, "Without approaching the stream, one can still take in the full beauty of the Nine Bend River—this peak surely deserves the first place."

The Tianyou Peak Scenic Area is the most perfectly integrated combination of mountain, water, nature, and culture in Wuyishan. Located at the heart of the entire Wuyi Mountain scenic area, it spans approximately 4 square kilometers. Major attractions include the Imperial Tea Garden, Tianzhu Peak, Yunwo (Cloud Nest), Yinping Peak, Shaibu Rock, Shuiyue Pavilion, Chadong (Tea Cave), Tianyou Peak, Yilan Pavilion, and Tianyou Temple. Beyond its enchanting natural scenery, it also offers a rare cultural landscape—featuring tea gardens, academies, and cliff inscriptions—that embodies the seamless fusion of Wuyi Mountain’s natural and cultural heritage.
