Longjiajie

A National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site. The Longjiajie and Guanba Miao Village scenic areas stretch across the eastern and western outskirts of Xianfeng County, with a main scenic road spanning 38 kilometers. The area boasts a wealth of attractions and picturesque scenery, integrating ecological sightseeing, leisure vacationing, and immersive experiences of local ethnic customs.

Visiting Longjiajie allows you to overlook layered mountain ranges, listen to the rustling of pine and cypress forests, admire eco-agricultural landscapes, experience the culture of the Tujia and Miao peoples, and enjoy the pleasures of farm work. The sea of clouds, sunrises, and sunsets are particularly spectacular. Fishing, mushroom picking, and pear harvesting are endlessly delightful. The vast pear orchards spread their fragrance far and wide, while local legends are shrouded in mystery. Flying kites, gathering wild fruits, and appreciating wild tea bring joy and enchantment. Drinking mountain spring water, tasting farmhouse meals, and sipping oil tea soup leave a lasting impression.

Guanba Miao Village has a long history, having been established over 300 years ago. With more than 500 households living together in one village and a total population of nearly 2,000, over 60% of whom are of the Miao ethnic group, it is known as the foremost Miao village in the Jingchu region. The village preserves relatively rich and intact Miao traditions, boasting a profound cultural heritage. Its terrain is gently undulating in the center and surrounded by mountains on all sides, resembling a boat-like landform. The Zhongjian River flows through here, adding a touch of spiritual vitality. The Longtan Stream remains cool in summer and warm in winter, and the eight major scenic spots are captivatingly beautiful. Residential clusters, wind-and-rain covered bridges, Miao village gates, Miao-style revolving horse towers, Tujia stilted houses, eighteen and a half hill fortresses, and vast azalea-covered mountains leave visitors enchanted. Watching the Ox-Tiger Lantern show, dancing with straw-dragon props, and listening to the Mayang dialect offer a taste of the Miao people’s unique ethnic culture.
