Yalong Bay Development Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint-stock enterprise approved by the State Council, controlled by Yalong Bay Development Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited, with Hong Kong’s Peng Lee Group as its largest shareholder. The company primarily engages in comprehensive land development and tourism entertainment, while also operating in real estate development, tourism product manufacturing, and sales.
Authorized by the government, Yalong Bay Company is responsible for the “unified development, unified planning, unified land acquisition, unified investment attraction, and unified construction” of the resort area. The first phase of development covers 18.6 square kilometers, with planned projects including beaches, luxury villas, convention centers, star-rated hotels, resorts, themed amusement parks, marine activity centers, golf courses, and yacht clubs.
Located approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Sanya City and about 326 kilometers from Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province, Yalong Bay is surrounded by mountains on its eastern, northern, and western sides, embracing the South China Sea in a crescent shape to the south. The total area spans 146 square kilometers, including about 80 square kilometers of land and 66 square kilometers of sea. The resort area lies at the center of Yalong Bay, covering 18.6 square kilometers. The main traffic artery of Yalong Bay National Resort Area connects to the Hainan Island Ring Expressway between Haikou and Sanya, and is just 34 kilometers from Sanya Phoenix International Airport. Adjacent to Yulin Port in Sanya, an important waterway for cargo and passenger transport in Hainan Province, the area enjoys convenient transportation with access by sea, land, and air.
Yalong Bay National Resort Area boasts a superior tropical maritime climate and classic tropical scenery. Its beaches stretch over 8 kilometers, with snow-white, fine sands and seawater visibility reaching 7–9 meters—crystal clear and home to a dreamlike underwater world, making it one of China’s best diving destinations. The resort area includes a national-level natural coral reserve, tropical fish communities, coastal vegetation such as mangroves, the rare Dragon Snow Tree, and lush, well-developed tropical flora. These relatively independent yet distinctive landscape resources provide ideal conditions for the serialized and multi-dimensional development of tourism in Yalong Bay.
The first phase of Yalong Bay National Resort Area has been completed and put into use, featuring a range of integrated facilities including luxury resort hotels and apartments with 2,000 rooms, a water activity center, Butterfly Valley, Shell Museum, central plaza, tennis club, golf course, and beach bathing areas—all combining sightseeing, education, science appreciation, entertainment, and dining.
Yalong Bay Company will also launch the area’s flagship tourism project—the Yalong Bay Ocean Park, set to become a one-of-a-kind attraction in Asia. The infrastructure of Yalong Bay International Resort Area is designed to international standards, serving the dual purposes of development and construction. Key facilities include roads, water supply and drainage, power supply, telecommunications, gas, public green spaces, public buildings, and environmental engineering. This comprehensive infrastructure provides Yalong Bay with an excellent development environment and conditions.
Ultimately, Yalong Bay will be developed into a multifunctional complex offering leisure, vacation, scenic landscapes, sports and entertainment, as well as conferences and exhibitions. While aligning with international standards, it will also retain a unique Eastern cultural essence, characterized by the distinctive style of Yalong Bay.
