Yancheng Sea Salt Historical and Cultural Scenic Area

　　A national AAAA-level tourist attraction, covering a total area of over 100 hectares, including the China Sea Salt Museum, Yan Town Water Street, Shuicheng, Dongjin Road Food Street, Entertainment Street, Yandu Park, and more. Among them, the China Sea Salt Museum is the only museum in China dedicated exclusively to showcasing sea salt civilization, approved by the State Council. Yandu Park is located in the city center and is connected to the ancient salt transport river — the Chuan Chang River. Covering an area of 486 hectares with a total investment of approximately 270 million yuan, it is the largest comprehensive water and green ecological park in the urban area, highlighting Yancheng’s characteristics of “water, greenery, and salt.” Within Yan Town Water Street, visitors can enjoy folk performances and Huai Opera acrobatics, sample local specialties, shop for cultural and regional goods, and explore the Salt Administration Office, Salt Ancestor Shrine, and Salt Merchants Guild Hall — ideal places for learning about the history and culture of sea salt. The Food Street, Entertainment Street, and Shuicheng form a leisure and resort complex integrating dining, entertainment, bathing, clubs, and resort hotels. During the annual Lantern Festival, the scenic area hosts a vibrant Spring Festival Lantern Fair that attracts large numbers of tourists. In 2009, the scenic area was approved as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. In 2011, the third phase of the project commenced, consisting of a fashion and creative industry park and folk cuisine facilities, with a total investment of about 30 million yuan, covering an area of approximately 7,555 square meters and a construction area of about 7,279 square meters.
