Phoenix Valley
Phoenix Valley is a grand canyon located between Pushui Peak and Xiandu Peak in the eastern part of Huangshan Mountain, stretching over 10 kilometers in depth. It is one of the major scenic spots of Huangshan, a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site. The valley entrance is near the 205 National Highway at Wuni Pass, offering convenient transportation.

Within Phoenix Valley, towering peaks rise majestically, bizarre rocks are scattered about, crystal-clear streams flow endlessly, and dense forests abound, presenting wonders at every turn. Highlights include the Phoenix Stone resting on emerald hills, the shimmering Phoenix Pool, the graceful Phoenix Pine, and the expansive, flat Phoenix Terrace. With a myriad of landscapes and enchanting scenes, the valley evokes joy at first sight. The U-shaped valleys, hanging valleys, glacial till layers, and potholes formed during the Quaternary glacial period are also prominently featured here.

Wuni Pass at the valley entrance was an ancient gateway to Huizhou and Huangshan, and a strategic military stronghold. It was once the site of brave battles fought by the Red Army's Northern Expeditionary Force against Japanese aggression, leaving behind battle relics of figures such as Fang Zhimin and Su Yu. A memorial monument now stands there, making it a base for patriotic education. Phoenix Valley is a premier tourist destination that boasts both cultural and natural attractions.
