Mount Yuniu of Wuyi Mountain
Mount Yuniu is an iconic scenic spot of Wuyi Mountain, with an elevation of 313.1 meters. It is located to the south of the Second Bend of the Nine-Bend Stream and is named for its resemblance to a graceful, slender maiden. “A flower-crowned peak by the water, fair as a virgin’s delicate form” — the peak is strikingly beautiful and has become a symbol of Wuyi Mountain’s landscape. The bamboo raft dock on the left bank of the peak serves as a key boarding and disembarking point for the Nine-Bend Stream tour. Beneath Mount Yuniu lies the clear, emerald-green Bathing Fragrance Pool, said to be where the maiden once bathed. In the middle of the pool lies a square, massive rock inscribed with the characters “Seal Stone,” which legend says was a love token given to the maiden by the King. On the right side of Mount Yuniu is a cliff known as “Reining-in-the-Horse Rock.” It bears the four-square-meter inscription “Mirror Stand” in neat, elegant calligraphy, visible from miles away. It is the largest cliff carving in the Wuyi Mountain scenic area.

Located at the Second Bend, the graceful peak stands tall by the water, adorned with flowers, exuding the charm of a beautiful maiden. Viewed from the stream, it vividly resembles an exceptionally lovely young lady.
