One of the famous Seventy-Two Caves of Mount Wuyi. It is situated on the far right side of Lingyan. The One-Line Sky (Yixiantian) runs horizontally behind the back wall of the cave. The cave is seven meters high, with both length and width measuring over ten meters. Its ceiling does not connect with the rock fissure (i.e., the One-Line Sky), and the left wall also does not adjoin the Wind Cave, making it an independently formed grotto with a unique character. Legend has it that the Celestial Master Ge once exorcised demons in the cave and built Lingyan Nunnery in front of it, but the nunnery has long since collapsed. Later generations engraved the three characters “首或妖岩” (interpreted as “First or Demon Rock”) in the adjacent Wind Cave. At one time, water seeped through the crevices in Lingyan Cave, pooling into crystal-clear greenish water the color of jade, known as the Holy Water Well. Today, this water source no longer exists.
