Tongzi Garden

Tongzi Garden is situated on the outskirts of Dahe Town, 40 kilometers from the county seat and 1 kilometer from the Dahe market town, bordering the Laoxia River. The surrounding mountains rise like isolated cone-shaped peaks reminiscent of Guilin’s karst landscape, covered in dense forests and lush grass, standing gracefully over the beautiful plains. The plains are dotted with well-organized tea plantations spanning thousands of acres, crisscrossed with paths like green carpets. In spring and summer, the tea bushes are laden with buds, while the orchards burst into vibrant colors, perfuming the breeze. Tea-picking girls, dressed in colorful attire, sing and dance as they work. The teas produced here boast pleasant aromas and rich flavors. The Laoxia River meanders around the village like a green silk ribbon, with clusters of bamboo, weeping willows, and clear flowing waters, creating a serene atmosphere. Most of the village houses are neat, well-spaced, and tidy small Western-style buildings. At dusk, local women gather at the village cultural square to sing and dance, engaging in various ethnic cultural activities. The village has a tea factory specializing in the production of premium green tea. There are also several “agritainment” spots renowned for their lamb and game dishes. As an ecological agriculture demonstration site, Tongzi Garden attracts many tourists for sightseeing and leisure. [Photographed by Wu Yonghong]
