Dulata Port, at an elevation of 780 meters, is a commercial port between China and Kazakhstan. It is a mutually agreed-upon but still-developing port, with its counterpart located in Qongja County, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan. The surrounding terrain is flat and expansive, with the Ili River Valley visible to the north and the Wusun Mountains to the south. The surface features drought-resistant desert steppe vegetation. Port infrastructure remains under construction; the Chinese side has built a two-story joint inspection hall near the port, which has just been completed, about 200 meters away. The Kazakh side has constructed some buildings approximately 2 kilometers from the port. The port has now been approved by the State Council as a national Class I land port. Currently, it is only temporarily open. This port will become one of the important channels for goods and personnel exchanges between Yining City, the Ili region, and Kazakhstan. It is also set to develop into a comprehensive, multi-functional export-oriented economic zone focused on cargo transshipment, border trade, and local trade. In the future, it will also be an important destination for tourism, sightseeing, leisure, and shopping.
