Jingyuan Temple
Jingyuan Temple is situated in Sunzhaqi Nonglu Township, 6 kilometers west of Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County. Constructed in 1892, it was one of the more influential temples among the eight major temples in Ili during the Qing Dynasty. It is now a key cultural relic protection unit at the autonomous region level, covering an area of 15,000 square meters with a construction area of over 2,000 square meters. The entire temple complex features symmetrically proportioned buildings arranged in a well-balanced layout. Its classic, unadorned design is a reflection of the fusion between Central Plains culture and frontier culture, fully demonstrating the architectural artistry of the Xibe people. It also stands as a physical testament to the efforts of the Xibe people and other ethnic groups in defending the frontier and safeguarding national unity.

The temple is grand and magnificent in scale, with a construction area of 1,000 square meters. It is surrounded by tall walls, and there is a brick-carved screen wall in front of the mountain gate. The main gate is inscribed with large golden characters reading "Jingyuan Temple" in both Xibe and Chinese scripts, showcasing neat and powerful brushwork. The courtyard is spacious and tranquil, with brick-paved pathways connecting the various halls. The overall architecture of Jingyuan Temple is exquisitely laid out with symmetrical proportions, fine craftsmanship, carved beams and painted rafters, and upturned eaves with unique angles, making it extremely elegant. The entire structure incorporates brick carving and wood carving arts, complemented by colorful paintings and clay sculptures.

Jingyuan Temple is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
