Cape Jinmu
Sanya’s Cape Jinmu is China’s southernmost military maritime base, an undeveloped virgin land that has in recent years been favored by water sports enthusiasts and has also become a popular location for wedding photography. Sanya has gradually launched one-day tour packages themed around Cape Jinmu, and the area is now starting to see more visitors. Surrounded by sea on three sides and backed by mountains on the other, it is truly the “end of the earth and corner of the sea.” Located at the southernmost point of China’s continental shelf, apart from a solitary lighthouse standing between the sea and sky, the area is rarely visited by humans.

The iconic landmark here, the Cape Jinmu Lighthouse, offers sweeping views of the boundless sea and sky, with many beautiful sights yet to be discovered. Currently, most visitors to Cape Jinmu arrive by self-driving or by joining local one-day tour packages. Activities include 360-degree sea fishing on offshore fish farms, barbecues, and scuba diving.

Location: Within Anyou Town, Sanya City, Hainan Province

Transportation: From Sanya City, take a bus from the main bus station to Anyou, then rent a “fengcai” tricycle to the military gate 0. From there, start hiking uphill to reach Cape Jinmu.
