East and West Hawksbill Islets
East and West Hawksbill Islets are situated in the waters near the southwestern coast of Sanya City. The two small islands stand facing each other from east to west. The surrounding waters are abundant with sea turtles, hence the two islets are called East Hawksbill Islet and West Hawksbill Islet. East Hawksbill Islet covers an area of 1.3 square kilometers, while West Hawksbill Islet spans 2.6 square kilometers. The scenery here is exceptionally beautiful: in the early morning, mist rises and the water and sky blend into a hazy whole; when the sun emerges on the horizon, the sea surface is tinged with a rosy hue, creating a colorful spectacle. At noon, sunlight stirs up a faint mist over the sea, making the indistinct islets appear and disappear in the haze.
