Sanya River Bird Nature Reserve

　　   The Sanya River Bird Nature Reserve is situated along the Sanya River in Sanya City, Hainan Province. Centered on the Sanya River, it is a bird nature reserve mainly established to protect the nationally rare bird species here, especially egrets. The protected area spans approximately six kilometers in length along both the eastern and western branches of the Sanya River, with a width ranging from one hundred to three hundred meters. The terrestrial area of the reserve covers 930 acres, including 210 acres of mangrove forest and 721 acres of muddy land.
