Tuanyuan Mountain Dinosaur Fossil Excavation Site
Tuanyuan Mountain Dinosaur Fossil Excavation Site is situated on Longben Mountain, south of Xifeng County, approximately 12 kilometers from the county center. In 1998, two giant carnivorous dinosaur fossils, each over 10 meters in length and dating back 170 million years, were unearthed here. According to field investigations and evaluations by experts from the International Dinosaur Society and the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this area was once home to dinosaurs, making it of great scientific research and science education development value.
