Colorful Dutch Village
A provincial four-star rural tourism destination. In 1919, Zhang Jian hired the world’s most experienced and technologically advanced Dutch hydraulic engineers to plan the farmland water conservancy project in Xinfeng, establishing a four-tier irrigation and drainage system comprising districts, fields, drains, and channels. As a result, Xinfeng earned the reputation of being “the first town in the Republic of China with planned villages and towns.” The Dutch Flower Sea project draws deeply on the historical legacy of this “first planned town,” and by preserving the original terrain and landscape, it has been redesigned with design elements such as “countryside, river networks, wooden buildings, windmills, and flower seas.” Featuring the iconic Dutch flower, the tulip, it offers an all-in-one experience of sightseeing, entertainment, dining, and planting, creating a vibrant Dutch-style flower sea that has become a beautiful cultural tourism emblem for Xinfeng. In 2013, it was successfully rated as a provincial four-star rural tourism destination.
