Gonarezhou National Park
Gonarezhou National Park is a large national park in Zimbabwe, a country in southern Africa. It lies along the border with Mozambique in Masvingo Province in the southeastern part of Zimbabwe. Established in 1975, it covers an area of 5,053 square kilometers and is one of Zimbabwe’s most popular national parks.

As the second-largest wildlife sanctuary in Zimbabwe after Hwange National Park, Gonarezhou is favored for its vast open spaces and expansive pristine grasslands, making it one of the best destinations in the country for wildlife viewing. One of the park’s most distinctive features is that all wildlife roams freely and coexists harmoniously within the park. The park is home to African wild dogs, and in 2010, special viewing points were created specifically for observing these animals. Visitors can explore the park in specially designed safari vehicles, taking in the raw beauty of the African savannah. Here, you can witness herds of elephants as well as the fierce African wild dog.
