Yanxia Mountain Scenic Area

Yanxia Mountain is situated in Zengjia Township, the southern gateway of Wanyuan City, 8 kilometers from National Highway 210, spanning an area of 30 square kilometers with an average elevation of 1,250 meters. The area boasts significant tourism development potential. It is home to the “Temple of Great Immortal Qin,” a grand temple complex built during the mid-Qing Dynasty that attracts a thriving flow of worshippers. On average, over 25,000 pilgrims from eight provinces and municipalities—including Guangdong, Fujian, Xinjiang, Guangxi, Shandong, Shaanxi, and Chongqing—visit the temple annually. The scenic area is richly forested with ancient and renowned trees, featuring centuries-old camphor trees with uniquely shaped trunks, the spectacular sight of the “Vine Maiden Embracing the Camphor Tree,” a Millennium Ginkgo King, ancient cypress trees, and the Osmanthus King with a canopy like a giant umbrella. There are also well-preserved ancient tomb clusters from the Ming and Qing dynasties, noted for their exquisite craftsmanship. Traditional East Sichuan-style folk houses can be found nestled among green bamboo, and dense forests line the ancient Sichuan-Shaanxi post road.
