Xiuhu Park in Yiwu
Just like the Yiwu River, the mother river of Yiwu, Xiuhu holds an extremely important place in the hearts of the people of Yiwu and is regarded as their second "mother river." Indeed, whether in ancient or modern times, who doesn’t love to admire the beauty of the painted pleasure boats on the willow-lined lake with their slender wafts of grace, or enjoy the grandeur of startled wild egrets among the lotus blossoms stirred by the breeze, or relish the tranquility of temple bells echoing through the misty dawn? The Eight Scenic Spots of Xiuhu are a source of pride for the people of Yiwu. Countless visitors have been captivated by them, and many literati and artists have been enthralled. Today’s Xiuhu Park has been rebuilt on the original site of Xiuhu, with a thousand-year-old ancient pagoda as its foundation and the recreation of the historic Eight Scenic Spots of Xiuhu as its main theme. It is entirely designed following the principles of traditional Chinese landscape gardening, with terrain that follows the natural contours of the land, creating a varied and undulating natural landscape. Stepping into Xiuhu Park, one walks along winding, serene paths. Amidst green trees, red flowers, and clear water, a series of classic structures are nestled in sequence: the classic-style Da’an Temple Pagoda, the Folk Residence Museum, a Song-style pavilion, a Ming-style corridor, ancient stone bridges, and a waterside boat. The Eight Scenic Spots of Xiuhu from days gone by are vividly brought back to life, making it a perfect leisure and fitness spot for the people of Yiwu today. It perfectly blends cultural elements with the natural landscape and has become a model urban park in Yiwu.
