Introduction: Wuzhishan Baihualing is a captivating scenic area nestled in the heart of Wuzhishan. The Baihualing Scenic Area spans several square kilometers. Following the cement mountain road through Baihua Village, where the Li ethnic group resides, you’ll soon come upon a majestic mountain range with overlapping peaks and towering ancient trees. On the side of the mountain stands a Guanyin Temple. With its upturned eaves, ornate beams, and resplendent decorations, the temple is magnificent, and the statue of Guanyin inside is dignified and serene. Throughout the year, devout worshippers from nearby areas flock here to offer incense and pray. Many domestic and international tourists visiting Baihualing also enter the temple to admire the sights and pay their respects, ensuring that the temple remains bustling with activity year-round. Beside the temple grows an ancient banyan tree, its branches stretching and roots dangling, exuding an ancient and majestic aura. It is said to be hundreds of years old, adding a sense of mystery and solemnity to the Guanyin shrine. Continuing along the mountain path and climbing up a small hill, you’ll hear the sound of rushing water. Looking through the misty veil, you can faintly see a powerful waterfall cascading down the mountainside — this is the awe-inspiring Baihualing Waterfall. Ascending the waterfall viewing pavilion, you’ll see the plunging waters descending like fluttering silk ribbons in three cascading tiers, accompanied by a thunderous roar. The surrounding area is shrouded in mist, creating a uniquely spectacular scene. This waterfall is named after Baihualing, originating from the second peak of Baihualing at an altitude of 700 meters. It gathers water from an area of nearly 2 square kilometers. The stream is flanked by dense primeval forests, with thick ground cover and abundant underground streams, ensuring a continuous flow of water year-round. With a drop of 300 meters and undulating terrain, the water forms a three-tiered waterfall, each level offering a unique and distinct view. A poet once wrote: “Torrential rains rise from the southern sky, white silk ribbons drift over mountain peaks; even Huangguoshu Waterfall pales in comparison, Baihualing’s waters are beyond compare.” Descending from the viewing pavilion and following over 200 steps of a “heavenly ladder,” you’ll pass through a forest corridor cloaked in dense foliage until you reach the lowest-level waterfall viewing platform. There, between two towering ancient trees, the massive waterfall plunges down the cliff face, sending sprays of water flying, resembling a “fairy scattering blossoms.”
