    Scenic Area Introduction:

Jiangkou Lake is the largest artificial lake in eastern Sichuan, formed during the construction of the Jiangkou Hydropower Station. Located in Xuanhan County, it is designated as a provincial scenic area. The dam blocks the waters of the Qianhe, Zhonghe, and Houhe rivers, creating an artificial lake with a backwater stretch of 110 kilometers, a water surface area of over 30,000 acres, and a water storage capacity of more than 300 million cubic meters. The lake features vast, shimmering blue waters, picturesque reflections of fish and water, and breathtaking beauty. Like a piece of blue silk draped between towering mountains and steep valleys, it is flanked by dramatic peaks, while leisurely wooden boats and speedboats slicing through the clear waves create a symphony of creaking oars that echoes endlessly across the lake.

Traveling upstream along the Qianhe River on the right side of Jiangkou Lake, you’ll encounter uniquely shaped peaks, serene waters, and charming villages. Passing through Eagle Creek, Renjiazui nestled in green hills, the emerald-green Qinglongzui, Qingqian Cave, and Huangshi Bailin (White Crane Forest), you’ll eventually reach natural attractions such as Xiaba Wenshan. Along the left side of the lake, the Houhe River offers lush greenery, splashing wild ducks, and the pleasant sight of passing boats—truly a captivating experience.

During holidays, Jiangkou Lake is adorned with colorful flags and filled with lively singing. Visitors come in groups or with family. Whether swimming, sipping tea, singing, dancing, playing mahjong, or enjoying a game of cards, there’s no shortage of ways to relax and have fun—it’s truly an ideal destination for leisure and entertainment.
