Lantern Square

　　　　Lantern Square is situated in the bustling downtown area of Zhonghe Town (the city center), Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Chongqing, covering an area of 41,683 square meters. The square is mainly paved, with green spaces spanning 1,000 square meters and water features covering 1,588 square meters. Shaped like a triangle, the square features an inscription by Li Peng at its front entrance reading "Xiushan Lantern Square." The arched gateway at the entrance is adorned with reliefs depicting the local customs and traditions of Xiushan, an autonomous county of ethnic minorities. On both sides of the gateway are landscape pools. The performance stage made of marble, located just inside the entrance, has a map of Xiushan County carved into it. At the center stands a bronze statue of a couple dancing the traditional Lantern Dance, reflecting the ethnic characteristics of Xiushan. Lantern Square serves as the main cultural, leisure, fitness, and shopping hub for local residents, as well as an important political center of Xiushan County. All major events and activities are held here.
