The name of Croajingolong National Park originates from a local Aboriginal tribe that lived in the area for thousands of years, and descendants of this tribe still reside here today. The park’s protected area features silvery-white beaches, towering eucalyptus trees, lush rainforests, and granite peaks, and has been designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This designation aims to protect the region’s natural ecology and wildlife. Popular activities within the park include beach walks, birdwatching, boating, hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, mountain biking, bushwalking, adventure pursuits, and fishing. Many visitors enjoy strolling along the park’s extensive beaches, which stretch for over 100 kilometers — a great way to relax and stay active.
The national park is home to 26 species of reptiles and 306 species of birds, accounting for one-third of all bird species in Australia, making it a renowned destination for birdwatching.
