Menara Gardens
The Menara Gardens (Menara Gardens) are situated to the west of Marrakech at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. They were built in the 12th century by Abd al-Mu'min of the Almohad dynasty, specifically designed as a summer retreat for city dwellers. The name "Menara" comes from the small green-tiled pavilion in the garden. The pavilion was constructed in the 16th century and restored in 1869, serving as a shady spot for cooling off during the summer.

The Menara Gardens offer visitors a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, along with stunning sunset views. The garden is lush with palm and olive trees, which draw water from an artificial lake within the grounds. Clear waters teem with fish, and the delicate silhouette of the pavilion is reflected in the emerald-green lake. This garden has been voted “the most romantic place in Morocco” by the youth of Marrakech. Young people love to come here for dates, watch sunrises and sunsets with loved ones, soak in the romantic atmosphere, and take boat rides to admire the snow-capped mountains in the distance.
