The waterfall has three tiers and is about 100 meters long in total. The first tier is around 20 meters long and is hidden behind trees in a small valley.
Along the stream, there are also several pools where visitors can play in the water.
The second tier is about 30 meters long and is the most well-known part of the waterfall. The spring water cascades down from the mountainside, and an observation pavilion is set up at the cliff corner, offering a view of the layered green mountains — making it the best spot to admire the waterfall.
The third tier is about 50 meters long. The spring water rushes down from the mountain like a herd of galloping horses, splashing water everywhere and creating thick mist. Visitors can play in the water or swim in the pool to enjoy the coolness in the heat of summer.
Next to Wufengqi Scenic Area lies another tranquil spot — the source of the Wufengqi Waterfall. By walking up a small path next to the temple at the entrance for about an hour, you’ll find several small ponds with incredibly sweet-tasting water.
Many hikers often collect the water to take down the mountain for tea, so the hiking community has named this place “Wufeng Secluded Valley.”
Above Wufengqi Scenic Area stands the Catholic Wufengqi Our Lady’s Villa. Legend has it that the Virgin Mary once appeared here to guide lost hikers, making it a pilgrimage site for believers. The area offers excellent views of the Lanyang Plain and is a popular hiking route (with about a 2-hour uphill walk).
